London 2012 To Play Spring in 2010
For immediate release:
So the summer games will play Spring this winter. (that’s a head scratcher)
We are elated to announce that LOCOG (the London 2012 Olympics Organizing Committee) will screen all sixteen of the CODE Motion Pictures short films to excite their nation during the Vancouver games’ time in anticipation of their own in 2012. The films will be showcased on 20 towering, outdoor community screens in the UK (see below map) from February 12-28, 2010.
“Not quite confident that a film about a woman obsessed with winter sports will incite the desired UK summer spirit. Maybe we should ring up London to see if they want us to whip up a more appropriate film for the event. Perhaps one called Fall?”, jokes Spring’s director Lynne Kamm.

Admittedly, I am a bit confused about this, but I’m very interested in seeing how 2012 will pan out. The development of the whole area has already created thousands of jobs which is fantastic, and London is a more stable political environment than Beijing so it will not be as controversial an event.
